Jak & Daxter was a good platformer, don't know why they tied to be shooters and GTA clones with the sequels. Daxter and The Lost Frontier felt more like the first game and had more platforming than 2 and 3.

Jak & Daxter: TPL. Very good, just not as fun as the previous two imo. It's also very short and a bit too easy. Daxter: one of the best PSP games I have ever played. It's not a bad game, it just can't compete with the previous ones imo, but good nonetheless. Jak and Daxter: Lost Frontier. I'm gonna be honest here: this game is an odd one.

A lot of the problems boil down to Jak's nerfed moveset and gunplay and the lack of variety with the air plane segments. (And the craziest difficulty spike in the entire series at the endgame lmao) The story is forgettable and some ideas like Dark Daxter make no sense and should've never been put in the game.
80% PlayStation 3. 9h 53m Played. Definitely my favorite of the first three Jak & Daxter games. After finishing the HD Collection, this one sticks out (in my opinion) as being the best of the three. The game isn't crazy difficult, has interesting game mechanics, and adds cool mods to your guns from the previous game.

But let’s not get too ahead of ourselves. Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy wasn’t GTA 3. It wasn’t Metal Gear Solid 2. At its heart, it was a platformer with some technical brilliance, but for players it was mostly just a very, very good game. It was fun, fairly easy, and breezy. Enjoyable, but not exactly world-changing.
That Daxter game on the PSP was good at least. Jak 1 and Daxter were the only games I have played in the series. Jak 1 was great but I actually loved Daxter. It was the 2nd game I got for my PSP after Liberty City Stories. I thought it was a fun and great looking platformer for the time.
