I have a 1.0 Tsi in my fabia estate, and it feels sluggish when fully loaded with people and luggage. I can only imagine an Octavia would suffer much worse, being a larger and heavier car. I'd want 1.5 for an octavia personally.

Independent testing over the last decades show a minimum of 3% penalty. Recent tests on modern cars show many suffer up to 10% penalty.
